Grrr

"Kevan"
....

It is only five letters, how can it be mangled so cruelly by ignorant mouths?!

Unfortunately the mnemonic involving large vehicles and colours does not seem to be asserting itself with the necessary force needed to blaze a new trail in the synaptic pathways of the human brain.

Maybe I should change my name?

Kev-Anne? Hmmm. I don't think my masculinity could take such a beating.

My dad has a lot to answer for, although I am sure that he had no idea the extent of the trouble he had caused with his choice. "Kevan" is a really cool name, don't get me wrong, but if nobody can get it right, what is a smallish animator to do?

what's the problem with your name?

Could have been worse.... he could have called you Blodwen. Now you would have been in serious trouble then :)

Hi Kevan,

if it'll help I share the same problem (a problem shared an all that...). I have exactly the same problem. People just don't listen when hearing names. They just hear what they assume they want to hear. So anyone with a slight variation gets called the more common version of their name.

It's a great name :)

Cheers
Kevan

Woo! Another Kevan! I've never met one before. Pleased to meet you.

Be honest, did you Google your name in a moment of boredom and find this blog?

: )

A pleasure to meet you too :)

Yes I did google, no and then, when I'm bored I give it a go on Google.

I feel your pain. I never really hear Jean-Denis either. My last name is Haas, but people still call me Jean all the time, I don't know why they don't say the -Denis... Do they think that Denis is part of the last name?

But I guess JD is really easier, isn't it?

Cheers
Jean-Denis
